Fords 2011 model year is turning out to look like it may be one of the best the automaker has had in some time with new introductions like the Ford Fiesta, Ford F-Series Super Duty, Ford Mustang and, now, the Ford Edge. Not long ago, Fords only mid-size crossover was the station wagon-like Ford Freestyle, but now the Ford Edge has grown to become a major player in this market. Although I was able to spend some time behind the wheel of the Edge Sport along some exciting roads outside Nashville, Tenn., the Edge SEL proved to be more impressive as it will likely be the volume seller of the Edge lineup and offers most of the same equipment available on the Sport.
Despite the numerous upgrades, one of the more impressive aspects of the 2011 Ford Edge is that its starting price will actually be less than the 2010 model. The base Edge SE is only available in front-wheel drive and has a starting MSRP of $27,220 a decrease of $200 compared to the 2010 Edge. The remaining trim levels will all have the option

of all-wheel drive with prices starting at $30,220 for the SEL, $34,220 for the Limited and $36,220 for the Sport.
After four years on the market, the 2011 Ford Edge is being rewarded with what could be considered the mother of all mid-cycle enhancements thanks to a major update that includes design, powertrain and overall refinement.
